EDA WASTEWATER IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

This project will include replacing existing sewer lines and a lift station to serve the proposed expansion of a manufacturing facility. The project will also include improvements to the WWTP. Specifically, this project will include replacing an existing 100 GPM lift Station with a new 400 GPM lift Station, replacement of 2000 LF of 4" Force Main with 5900 LF of 8" Force Main, WWTP Screenings, Grit Removal, and Influent Pumps Replacement, WWTP Equalization System, and WWTP Sludge Dewatering Improvements.

CLEANER WATER FUND VARIOUS IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

This project will provide much needed improvements for McCreary County Water District's Water Treatment Plant - A and Water Treatment Plant - B (pictured), as well as the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Holloway Cemetery Pump Station.

FLAT ROCK ROAD WATER MAIN EXTENSION PROJECT IN PINE KNOT

The project will provide a reliable source of potable water to existing unserved customers. This project will consist of approximately 6,200 linear feet of 3" water mains that will provide a source of potable water to 4 unserved customers.

CUMBERLAND FALLS SEWER EXTENSION

This project will consist of extending approximately 16 miles of 6-inch PVC force main from the Cumberland Falls State Park to a connection point north of Whitley City in McCreary County. The existing 8-inch WWTP influent gravity sewer will be intercepted and conveyed to the first of 13 proposed sanitary sewer pump stations along the route. Each pump station will be designed to pump 200 GPM which is greater than the peak hydraulic capacity of approximately 140 GPM currently received at the WWTP. This flowrate will provide a velocity of 2.5 feet per second in the 6-inch force mains per KY Division of Water requirements. The section of force main that would be constructed through the Park property would be designed to minimize environmental disturbance. The existing pump station near the visitor’s center will remain in service but will be modified to pump 200 GPM out of the Park, across the Cumberland River and into McCreary County. This project will allow sewer access to 100+ existing homes along the KY 1045 route in a future project as well as properties near CFSP.
